Managing a hydraulic system in District Heating
Project Downloads
Objective
More and more low-temperature systems are in operation in district heating. The advantages are obvious, especially when operating a direct system and a STAG (STeam And Gasturbine combined cycle), combined heat- and power plant. This project looked at the effect of combining a number of measures in one system.
Results
The results from the project are available in a report that is based on the system being used at Purmerend in the Netherlands. The fiollowing issues are discussed:
- System modifications
- The main heat source
- The hydraulic circuit
- Heat storage
- Controlling CHP station, storage tanks and auxiliary boilers
- Controlling substations
- Consumer controls
- Heat transport
- Safeguarding
- Adjustment to developments
- Cost analysis of system options
