Research Projects: Completed projects 1993 - 1996 / Annex IV
Efficient substations and Installations
Objective

The goal of this project was to identify the most efficient combination of substations and installations for different building categories in District Heating Systems. The project focussed on system concepts that met the requirements for low supply and return temperatures in the District Heating Networks.

A simulation model was created.

Results

The results of this project are available in a report that covers the following:

  • CHESS-ESI, a computer tool for analysing district heating substations and heating installations
  • Mathematical models; Refinements of CHESS-ESI compared with CHESS
  • Simulated consumer heating systems
  • Simulations of selected systems
